Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Distance: 65km (1.5hrs) | Elevation: 2,250m / 7,382ft

Arrive in Paro, Bhutan, a stunning valley surrounded by the majestic Himalayas, with a fascinating history and breathtaking landscapes. After your arrival, your guide will greet you and transfer you to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Check into your hotel and refresh before visiting some of Thimphu’s must-see attractions, including:

  • Buddha Point: Marvel at the world’s largest sitting Buddha statue, radiating peace and happiness.
  • Memorial Chorten: Visit the revered monument built in honor of Bhutan’s third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.

Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing

In the morning, embark on a short hike to Cheri Monastery, a peaceful retreat founded in 1620 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Afterward, enjoy a scenic picnic lunch by the riverside before returning to Thimphu for more sightseeing:

  • National Museum (Ta Dzong): Discover Bhutan’s natural and cultural history at this 17th-century museum.
  • Paro Rimpong Dzong: Visit this grand fortress, which serves as the headquarters for the Paro district.

Day 05: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery Distance: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 3,120m

No visit to Bhutan is complete without a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang). Clinging to a cliff 300 meters above the Paro valley, this sacred site is one of the holiest places in the Buddhist world. Originally built in the 17th century, the monastery was rebuilt after a fire in 1998. The hike offers stunning views and a spiritual experience.

Day 06: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
